What's Up
Time To Relax 3/1/10 Each year, February is always a busy month with something going on every weekend.
March is here, time to relax. Now, hopefully I can keep from getting sick like I usually do in March.
2010 MN Skywarn Workshop 2/15/10 It looks like John Wetter has lined up another great day. On Saturda, April
10th at St. Thomas University, the fifth annual MN Skywarn Workshop will be held. This year's keynote speaker: Dr. Chuck
Doswell.
Wildlife Festival 10/4/09 The Friends Of Sherburne NWR are celebrating National Wildlife Refuge Week and the 44th birthday of Sherburne NWR
on Saturday, October 10th from 10am-4pm. Free activities include horse-drawn hayride, scavenger hunt, bonfire, facepainting,
silent auction, and more. Several Refuge service roads, not normally open to the public, will be opened from 8am-4pm.
Fall Colors 2009 9/5/09 Fall colors are coming fast this year.
I think peak was early October last year, but I would expect that to be about 2-3 weeks earlier this year. Already entire
trees turning red between Cloquet and Ely. Yellows starting to appear.
Weather In '09 9/2/09 2009 is definitely the worst weather year
ever (for me). One storm chase on August 8th, and it was a bust. Time to focus on the fall colors, and I've already
noticed some trees changing.
NWS Uses Pic 2/14/09 The Warning Coordinator Meteorologist
at the Twin Cities NWS did notify me today that they are using one of my pics in the new Skywarn presentation starting this
year. That also means they will be covering shelf clouds more during the training classes. Thank goodness!
